SBB Cargo intermodal strategy

SBB Cargo is developing an integrated national intermodal strategy based on two new terminals.

Gateway Limmattal in Dietikon near Zurich will be the Swiss hub for rail-borne containers to and from the major north European ports, while a second facility in the Rhine port of Basle will handle rail/river traffic.

Limmattal will open in the middle of the decade while Basle is expected to come in stream in 2013-14
